Origins of multicellularity
How did animal multicellularity emerge from our common unicellular ancestor?

This friendly approach to our closest unicellular relatives shows us the key to discerning what we, animals, inherited from our ancestor and what is unique in us.

Artistic Approach

One of the main objectives of this project was to present complex and academic content with an informative record but without losing scientific rigor.

The client was clear on wanting to take the risk of working on such content with animated characters and humorous touches, which is unusual in this sector’s codes.

We considered character designs of clean lines and realistic proportions but contrasted with comic expressions. With the animation, of subtle and organic movements, the dynamics of living organisms were sought. All this was amalgamated with a color palette of cool and bright tones to give it a technological and modern feel.

As for the audio, we decided to compose a track with a very melodic electronic vibe, reinforcing the idea of an unorthodox and uncomplicated academic video. A real hit by Murmur to dance with the jellyfish and the amoeba.
