Blanc! Opening Titles

Deep inside the woods these mysterious characters live. An adorable and calm species, characterized by absorbing the color of everything they touch.

Metaphor of inspiration and work they are the protagonists of this Blanc! Creativity and Innovation Festival opening titles.

Artistic Approach

These characters, allegories of curiosity, inspiration and creativity, had to have a vague and diverse form factor because the creative process is different in each one of us. The importance had to be on the color white, a certain abstraction and the ability to be influenced by the environment.

This is how these amorphous characters were designed, with non defined limbs and a personality firmly determined by curiosity and experimentation. Aesthetically they are strongly influenced by the classic Barbapapás, characters capable of changing shape, and also by the whole universe of Hayao Miyazaki, especially that of Mononoke Hime.

But this time, escaping our usual 2D aesthetic, we looked for a finish that would allow better integration with the photographic environment and bring much more realism.

The cinematography and sound treatment of the piece are reminiscent of a scientific expedition tasked with recording wildlife in a distant and minimally invasive way, without altering the habitat and behavior of the observed species.
